Aspiring singer Alexa Ray Joel, daughter of Billy and Christie Brinkley, has responded to a recent post by Perez Hilton on Alexa, which maligned the 21-year-old’s looks, saying she’s “not bad, actually, just no supermodel.” Alexa addressed the issue in her latest MySpace blog, venting her frustration with Perez, the media perpetuating a “supermodel” appearance and assuring that she’s comfortable with her “exotic” features.

I know it’s ridiculous, and I should have a thicker skin by now and just plain NOT CARE, but I can’t help but be a little bummed out because the incredibly cruel, bullying Perez Hilton (this tabloid guy who calls himself the ‘queen of media’) just put up a horrible picture of me on his site and basically in so many words called me ugly, or rather, wrote that I’m ‘not that bad, actually, I’m just no supermodel’…

I just feel like saying: ‘YES, my mom and I look completely different, and I’m OK with that. I like that I look unique, or more ‘exotic’–I don’t want to look like everybody else, and I also don’t want to look like a supermodel–I just want to look like ME!’

…I’m just so OVER being compared to my mom looks-wise! I’m happy to have a lot of my father’s features (especially his eyes and lips)–I think he’s very handsome, and I’m quite sick of hearing people call HIM ugly–I think he has a very soulful face–the face of someone with character and integrity–who has LIVED, and has something important to say.

What hurt Alexa even more was when she stumbled upon another site dissecting a photo of her sister Sailor Lee Cook, 8, and she hates that it has gradually become more commonplace for the media to “trash public figures (and their children) and call them all sorts of names JUST FOR THE HECK OF IT.”

There was even some blogger on there picking a part the appearance of my 8 year-old sister–it made me sick to my stomach to see that. She’s just a little girl–and she’s my adorable, beautiful little sister! I cried my eyes out when I saw that, I was so disgusted.

Alexa also adds that her boyfriend adores her imperfections and doesn’t understand why they’re not appreciated by the media, especially when her mom doesn’t look like a “supermodel” 24/7.

…So if these imperfections are what our partners end up growing to love so much about us, why isn’t this celebrated as a natural, human truth? Why is it hidden, and replaced with this false truth that everybody’s supposed to aspire to look like a ’supermodel’ (whatever looking like a super-model entails–I have no clue). When my mom saw that Perez Hilton thing, she was like, ‘OK, what’s his point?–I have hundreds of bad pictures taken of me, and I’m a supermodel! Should I release them to the media so everyone can see that NOBODY is perfect?’ (I love her for that).

Jennifer Lopez’s husband Marc Anthony not only picks out her clothes but acts as her purse. The actress-and-singer, who was named Style Icon of the Year at the Us Weekly Hot Hollywood 2007 party, believes Marc is her secret fashion weapon. Marc revealed to the magazine: “I pick out all her dresses, for the most part. I’m the Simon Cowell of my household - really honest. “She developed my eye for it. I didn’t realize I was so good at it, but she could have 20 designers and five girlfriends in a room, and she’ll still say, ‘Let’s ask Marc.’ “She looks great in cream tones and light blues. I like when she has smoky, dark eye shadow. That really brings out the colour in her eyes and drives me nuts. That’s my weakness.” Marc also won’t let J.Lo carry a purse, and is happy to be overloaded with her going out essentials. He explained: “I’m her purse. At events that’s my purpose and you’ve got to know what your purpose is.” J.Lo also loves choosing outfits for her spouse. She said: “Sometimes he gets picky. He’ll say, ‘I don’t like those pants’, so I always give him choices.” Marc added: “She picks out everything I wear. She lays out three options for me.” Ok Marc what’s going on you’re supposed to be taking care of the pocket book situation. What he meant to say was that he likes controlling Jennifer as much as possible even if it means resorting to being her hand bag.

She’s coming home! Larry Birkhead has finally obtained Dannielynn’s passport and will leave the Bahamas for the U.S. tomorrow.
